Patrícia Mariano (b.1988) is a self-taught artist whose art is as symbolic as it is enigmatic.
The artist work is nestled somewhere in between reality and dreams and could be described as imagined realism. The figurative compositions of Patricia’s work, imbued with melancholic and metaphorical imagery, allow her to create a unique surrealist universe and atmosphere, where the use of symbolism has become her artistic identity. The amazing depth of color of Mariano’s paintings look like a surreal scene that you can truly just step into.
She learned to draw from her father and grandmother, and began her career as a painter in 2017/2018. Since then, she has had multiple solo and group exhibitions, as well as several urban art interventions.
Patrícia lives in Lisbon, where she works full-time in her home studio.
