Apaixonar – It’s the portuguese verb for falling in love. Arte means art. We just gather the terms. APAIXONARTE – Falling in love with art.
Apaixonarte is a store/gallery that welcomes the Portuguese urban contemporary spirit, since 2012. Located in a historic district of Lisbon between the Bairro Alto and Santos/São Bento axis, in the so-called Bairro do Triângulo area, more precisely in a narrow street, where the famous tram 28 passes.
A versatile space that stirs our dopamine levels through a wide range of objects, from art to urban handicrafts, always with an ‘objective in the lens’: to promote what is national.
Our store is curated with unique and very special pieces, by emerging artists based from north to south of Portugal, including our wonderful islands. Here you can find author pieces, prints, screen prints, risographs, unique pieces and ceramics, in a selection of more than 60 artists.
And of course, there is also a gallery that serves as a canvas for exhibitions of various arts, where more than 70 exhibitions have already been opened to the public.
Our passion is to promote what is done around here, giving voice and stage to emerging artists, in Portugal and around the world.
However, nothing beats a personal visit to our gallery or a visit to our website. And to not miss out, subscribe to our newsletter now.
Increase your dopamine levels with art, not your smartphone.
This is a good store to find great pieces of art. Or art prints and other objects. There is also an exhibition space. At the moment showing nice collage works. There is a nice selection of works. Lots of options. And different price class.

Walked by late at night when the shop was closed and saw a sketch in the window that I loved. Went on their website the next day and purchased 2 pieces, including the sketch in the window I had originally fell in love with. Realized after purchase I accidentally bought 3 copies of the same piece. Emailed them for help and João was lightning fast in his response and fixed my mistake. Highly recommend. Art arrived in Switzerland super fast and without headache. Was very well packaged. Can’t wait to order more and visit the shop again when it’s open!

Staff was very helpful and friendly. Although it is a small shop, most of the things for sale are art prints, which you can browse through sort of like looking through vinyl records in an old record shop, so there are plenty of pieces to choose from. The back part of the store has a small gallery that features the art of a different local artist every month. Outside of a handful of pieces, most of the art is affordable for a younger person on a budget.

I love the shop and the exhibitions with the best selection of contemporary Portuguese artists. Anyone passing through Lisbon should visit this space and get to know the best that Portugal has to offer in the world of fine arts, illustrations and ceramics. To see, support and take home art made in Portugal, always with a lot of passion in the selection. ❤️

Had a great experience at this shop. We purchased one of the pieces by Antonio Azevedo and it arrived intact. Joao was very kind and did a great job packing it for us. Will definitely be back in the future!

Great little gallery! Cláudia, the gallerist carefully wrapped a delicate piece of art work I purchased from the gallery and shipped it to Sydney Australia, arriving safely on the date I requested.
