April 25 begins in the street and continues at home!
Because freedom isn’t just a date – it’s a daily presence.
And so that this right, won in 1974, can be celebrated 365 days a year, we’re sharing with you a collection of prints and original pieces created by our artists, who believe in the power of art to keep the memory, the spirit and the struggle alive.
This is a good opportunity to acquire works that celebrate Portuguese history and values.
April 25, always!
On April 25, 1974, Portugal experienced a turning point in its history. The military and the people took to the streets to demand freedom, equality, and social justice — and they won. Known as the Carnation Revolution, this peaceful uprising got its name when a woman placed red carnations in the barrels of soldiers’ guns — a symbol of hope, courage, and non-violence.
Today, the democracy born that day faces new challenges. Freedom of expression, equal opportunities, and human rights must be protected, as we witness a rise in populism, intolerance, and division.
At our store/gallery, we celebrate this historic date to honour those who fought for our freedom — and to remember that it’s up to us to keep its values alive, every single day.
