Filipe Granja was born in Porto in 1989. A resident of the municipality of Matosinhos, he began to show an appetite for urban art from an early age. In 2004 he painted his first graffiti, an artistic aspect that continues to dominate his work, although in different ways. He has a degree in Communication Design and Multimedia from the Escola Superior Artística do Porto (2009-2013). He went on to study at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto (2013-2015), where he completed a Master’s degree in Image Design, having carried out research on the theme ‘Street Art as a tool for perpetuating the collective memory of space’.

Since 2013, he has been a freelance Street Artist, working under the alter-ego mynameisnotSEM. As a curator and producer of urban art events, Filipe Granja stands out for energising the DESENLATA and FLASH projects. He has also been the artistic producer of BECUH Porto since 2016.

The nature of his creative process is the result of a symbiosis of experiences. Electronic music festivals, which he attended from a young age, as well as the experience of altered states are, together with his graffiti background and design training, the origin of the multiple visual languages he uses. Psychedelia, imaginary universes, optical art and kaleidoscope vision predominate in a body of work that excels at visually representing environments and soundscapes.
