Atrito – André Carrilho
Continuing with Inércia, a first travel album, ATRITO collects the landscapes where André Carrilho stopped. Each drawing represents many hours watching corners of the great capitals or mountains of the interior, here a theater, in addition to a church, many trees and a birth, of his son. To draw is to capture the essential, not only of the place, but of the way it affects us who we are at that moment. Atrito (friction), says the author, is what changes the course of any trip. We can also see from the texts that André Carrilho tunes through the tuning fork of the great travelers, those who point out the details of the world.
André Carrilho is an illustrator, cartoonist, animator and caricaturist born in Amadora. He has been awarded more than 30 national and international awards and has participated in collective and individual exhibitions in Portugal, Spain, Brazil, France, Czech Republic, China and the USA.
