Ljubljana V7 – Maria Luz
Maria Luz was born in Lisbon on January 27, 1999. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon in 2021, after leaving the bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design at ESAD.CR. From February to June 2020, she studied at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, under the Erasmus programme. She currently lives and works in Lisbon, where she combines visual art with various collective projects, paying special attention to the feminist collective she co-founded MANAS (Lisbon, 2018).
“The artist portrays everyday objects with which she appeals to tranquility, delicately manipulating their light and color. Luz celebrates the ordinary through her distinctive style, which incorporates elements of abstraction and surrealism. Her creative process is through photography – analog or digital – drawing and oil painting.”
