Mariana Dimas holds a Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Lisbon and spent four years wearing the white coat in Maputo. However, her passion for Fine Arts and Photography was always present in the background. It was during her time in Mozambique, influenced by African art and local artists, that she began exploring painting intuitively with acrylics. When she returned to Portugal in 2016, Mariana decided to shift her focus entirely to the arts. She completed a postgraduate program in Illustration and Animation at IPCA and worked with HUND agency as a photographer and illustrator. Since 2021, she has been working as a freelancer in Lisbon, fully dedicating herself to the Visual Arts — photography, illustration, painting, and art direction — through a combination of commissioned work, collaborations, and personal projects. She is also the illustrator of “A minha madrasta” (My Stepmother), published by Porto Editora in 2024.
